Hidden in a quiet side street just off Lista di Spagna, one of Venice’s main streets, the Mercante di Venezia remains central while sheltering you from the noise of the city.

On Lista di Spagna you will find shops and cafés and there are many great restaurants in the area. Take a short stroll to Venice’s famous casino, where you can make the most of the free entry you will enjoy as a guest at the Mercante di Venezia.

Much of Venice can be explored on foot from the Mercante di Venezia, but public transport can also be found close by, with waterbuses leaving from just 50 metres away.

In December 2001, Venice celebrated the grand opening of a new hotel called Alloggi Locanda del Ghetto, located directly underneath the "Schola Italiana" in the Campo del Ghetto. The building dates back to 1400 but was restructured in 1500 in order to build the synagogue and some of the rooms have preserved the original decorations on the ceiling beams.
